In the words of the legendary MC Lyte “I want to let the world know about Mae Day, she’s coming, I’m proud to know it and proud to say it…..Look for her!!!”
She’s officially returned with the released of her new project Love & War: All Ain’t Fair. The album, which is produced entirely by Witt of DeNotes Production, is 13 cohesive joints about love and the battlegrounds it emerses from. Mae Day has gone from performing in local talent shows as a child, to opening up at Detroit’s State Theater, Hart Plaza, and the legendary St. Andrews Hall- to name a few. She’s also rocked crowds at innumerable clubs, venues, and colleges and universities in and out-of-state, such as The Palms Hotel of Las Vegas, Club Element of NYC, various venues for SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX, and more. “Mae Day is what I refer to as a true Master of Ceremony. One of the few artists of this generation who takes her artistry serious, and I look forward to hearing her music and watching her grow from Detroit MC to a mainstream star,” says Lenny S, V.P. of A&R Def Jam. She was named as one BET’S Top MC’s and MC Lyte has also given Mae Day her seal of approval saying, “Nobody is messing with Mae Day, she’s in a class all by herself”.
More than a performance, OuterSpaces is an experience. Featuring the spitfire wordplay of Invincible (Detroit), the soul-stirring spoken word of Climbing PoeTree (Brooklyn), and the irrepressible flow and flavor of Las Krudas (Havana). Audiences will step into a parallel universe where possibilities are endless. Invincible’s impeccable lyricism decodes complex truths of power and politics, and the science of social change. Climbing PoeTree’s compelling cadence stretches the mind and expands the heart on the edge of outrage and inspiration. And Las Krudas twist fierce feminist hip hop and afro-cuban flavors to uplift a message that makes movement irresistible. Accompanying the wordplay of these 5 dynamic performers is stunning video projection, beat boxing (human breath pounding out rhythms on mics, pan flutes, and bottles), hand-made music boxes, and cutting edge instrumentation. In every tour stop, the artists create intentional spaces that not only lift consciousness around social and political issues, but also expand audiences’ capacity to imagine another world.

Encouraged by her mother, Insite began writing rhymes reflective of her daily experiences. Crafting rhymes addressing a myriad of topics, Insite has literally sought to incite a riot in the minds and hearts of all who listen. “Insite basically means to encourage or urge on, stimulate or prompt to action. A riot is simply a brilliant display or an unbridled outbreak. Basically the music is a call to action. That action may be getting involved in your community or just believing in your dreams.” After a stint with the underground hip hop collective U.G.I.N.C, Insite began performing as a solo artist.
